I acknowledge that this place that sustains us all is Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land that was never ceded.

Always was, always will be, Dharawal Land | Port Kembla, NSW

This project was funded by a Wollongong City Council Quick Response Grant.

Photographs of nothing in particular but evidence of the pleasure and contentment that can be found in simplicity and connection. A conscious battle to overcome the affliction of endless mindless consumption. Told through the eyes of a first time mother seeking a simple life and a community close to home, at one of the worst possible times in history, but where things are slowly changing anyway.

An inward look at what we have, who we depend upon, and what we choose to do with our time and attention.

Set in Port Kembla from isolation March to opening up July 2020, when we wonder what will change and what will stay the same.

“Maybe working on the little things as dutifully and honestly as we can is how we stay sane when the world is falling apart.” // Haruki Murakami //
